Shipping and Handling
When will my order ship?
Your order will ship from the Alabama warehouse in about 2 weeks for standard in stock products. Your custom lantern will take 4 to 6 weeks to ship. Shortly after you place an order, we will notify you of the status of your lantern and an estimated shipping time. You can decide at that time if you can accept that estimate. All estimates are made with the understanding that we cannot give you an exact ship date due to the nature of these handcrafted products. We will be as accurate as possible, but under no circumstances will we be liable for any costs incurred due to delayed shipping. At the time of the estimate, you are free to accept the estimate or cancel with no cost to you. Once your order is in production, a 20% fee will be charged for canceling to cover the expenses incurred at that point. We will strive to keep you informed of any changes affecting the estimated ship time and will supply tracking information once it becomes available.
What are the shipping charges?
Most lantern orders are shipped by standard UPS ground service at our expense. Lanterns that carry a shipping fee will have that information posted with the product information. Large commercial orders or large custom orders that may require freight line shipment will be addressed at the time you are given an estimate of cost. If you would like to request expedited shipping for your lantern order, please contact us for a freight quote.
Can You Ship to a Post Office Box or APO Address?
No. The nature of these products require they be shipped tp a physical address.
Shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Canada
Our Lanterns can be shipped to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Canada for an additional fee.
If purchasing a gas lantern, be sure to check your local code requirements before ordering. Contact
us for a freight quote to these areas. All Canadian taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
Will I have to sign for my order?
UPS shipments may be left at the door. If you would like to sign for your order or have special instructions, please leave them in the Special Instructions box at check-out. Please keep in mind the value of these copper items and make sure , if they are left without a signature, they will be safe. Once the items are left by the carrier, they are your responsibility.
Freight line shipments will have to be signed for at delivery. If your order is large, be sure there is someone on hand to receive and handle a large freight order. Freight companies generally have a policy to deliver to “curb-side” or “dock”. You may request any special delivery instructions necessary and we will make sure they are transmitted to the freight carrier. We will not however, be responsible for additional charges due to multiple delivery attempts or delivering into a residential area. Please be sure to give us accurate information for your delivery to avoid these charges. Freight line deliveries to a residential address can be as high as $80.00. You have the option to have such an order delivered to a commercial address if necessary. Just let us know how you want the order handled and we will be glad to accommodate your request and help you avoid additional fees.
To protect your rights, please sign for any delivery, subject to inspection. Make a note of any carton damage and be sure the driver signs also. Open and inspect your items as soon as possible, within 7 days, and notify us of any damage. This is very important to ensure a successful freight claim if needed. Timely inspection and communication are the keys to avoiding extra expenses regarding freight claims. Your items have been inspected and carefully packed before leaving the warehouse, so please notify us right away if you find any damage.
Returns
Damaged or Defective
Your items were inspected and carefully packed before they left the warehouse. Please open and inspect your order as soon as it arrives. You must report any shipping damage within 7 days of receipt. We have a small window of opportunity to report freight damage for claims and we cannot be responsible for freight claims reported after 7 days of receipt. Remember to sign all deliveries, "Subject to Inspection". Please call 1-800-810-3275 to report any problems with the order. You may also email us service@coppergaslanternsplus.com. Please keep all shipping materials and cartons. Re-pack the items carefully if anything must be returned. We will issue a return authorization number for you to include with the return. Do not return any items without this number. They will be refused and returned to you. Copper Gas Lanterns will arrange pick up and pay the freight to return your damaged or defective items if notified within 7 days of receipt. Identical merchandise will be shipped to you at no charge. Glass can be replaced without returning the fixture. Damaged or defective items may not be exchanged for different merchandise and your refusal to accept identical merchandise will result in the denial of your claim for full credit.
Non-Damaged or Defective
Should you be dissatisfied with you order once it arrives, call or email us immediately. Non- custom products may be returned subject to a 25% re-stocking fee and freight charges both ways within 14 days of receipt. They must be in the original cartons and not been installed. Please pack carefully as we will not issue credit for items that are damaged in the return. We recommend that you purchase insurance for any items you are returning and obtain a tracking number. Copper Gas Lanterns Plus is not responsible for items lost in shipment. We will issue an RGA for you to include once we have approved the return. Any items fitted with electronic ignitions are subject to a 30% re-stocking fee. You are responsible for all freight charges. Once the items are received and inspected, the original purchase price less the re-stocking fee will be credited to your original method of purchase. Please allow up to 30 days for this transaction to show up on your account.
Custom made products are not returnable. We are available to assist you before you place an order and will do everything in our power to help you make the correct decision. Returns are expensive for both parties, so please ask for assistance if you are unsure of any aspect of your order.
Backorders
Lanterns that are listed on the web site are considered stock items. All other items and items with modifications are considered custom items. You will be advised after we receive your order, the status of the lantern you are ordering and an expected ship date. If you are unable to wait the estimated time for delivery, please notify us at that time, your order will be cancelled with no charges. Once the order is submitted for production costs begin to accumulate. A 20% fee will be deducted for cancelling an order that has gone into production to cover those costs.

We do not sell or transfer your information to any 3rd party and we do not send out spam. The information we collect is used to process your payment and ship your order only.
Due to improvements and innovations in technology, shopping on line with your credit card is safer than it has ever been. Leading security experts have found that most credit card frauds do not occur through the use of your credit card on secure web sites that employs SSL technology. This technology allows your information to be transmitted to us in an encrypted form. Most web browsers are equipped with this technology today. All information remains in this encrypted form until we receive it. Our site must submit each year for a security test to assure that we are handling sensitive information in accordance with the highest industry standards. When you submit your credit card information on our site, the amount is approved or rejected by our processing company based on encrypted name and number matches and credit available. We then do our own security check of your card, before processing the payment. That payment is transmitted in the encrypted form from us to the processing company. We do not store your credit card information in our records. If a credit is issued, that information is transmitted to the processing company and they issue the credit from their encrypted records. Only one member of management processes credit card payments at Copper Gas lanterns Plus. Our hosting company employs the highest levels of security available today. You will know that you are using a site with SSL technology by looking for several security signs. Most browsers will display a lock or key in the bottom status bar when you are transmitting using SSL (Secure Socket Technology)technology. The address bar will have https: in front of the site's URL. Our site is certified and protected by Thawte. You can click on the certificate on the check-out page to view how the information is protected. The current date is displayed at the bottom of the Thawte Logo to let you know that is is working.
For those who wish to pay by check, that option is available at check-out time. Just select Pre-Pay by Check as your payment type and follow the instructions. Once your check has cleared your bank, your order will be processed. If you are uncomfortable with ordering on-line, you may also order over the phone using your credit card.
